Heat- and salt-tolerant choices do best: palms, crotons, agave, bromeliads, firebush, coontie and ornamental grasses. We recommend plants based on your sun exposure and how close you are to the water.

Rock or mulch, which is better?

Rock lasts for years and suits low-maintenance and modern coastal looks. Mulch holds moisture for plant health and needs topping up about once a year. Many yards use both.

Do you install sod?
