Subtropical plants don't slow down. Ficus, viburnum, podocarpus and sea grape hedges can grow a foot or more in a season, and crotons and bougainvillea will swallow a front walkway if you let them. Regular trimming keeps them healthy and dense and keeps them from creeping onto the house, fence or driveway.
We trim hedges to clean, even lines, raise canopies so light reaches the lawn, cut back vines along fence lines and remove dead or storm-damaged growth. When a shrub or small tree has to go completely, we remove it and haul it off, and the space is ready for something new.

How often should hedges be trimmed in Florida?
Most hedges look best trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks during the growing season and less often in winter.
Do you remove trees?
We remove bushes and small trees. For large trees that need climbing or crane work, we will tell you honestly and point you to a certified arborist.
When is the best time to trim palms?
Remove only fully brown fronds and seed pods, ideally before hurricane season. Over-trimming green fronds weakens palms.
